The Problem: My monitor has a thin blue line down the near center of my monitor. I have been trouble shooting for an hour or so and have found it NOT to be my graphics card, but most certainly the monitor, which has a blue line in whatever device it is plugged into. I have heard that overheating can cause this so I have left it alone and am trying to keep it clean from dust and the like.
Direct Question: What I want to know is if there is a surefire way that the line can be gone for good.
Sympathy Factor: I will be a good little boy from now on and keep my monitor off when not specifically using it and turn it off at night, I just want the line gone- this is my first computer, I just built it three days ago(meaning I had the monitor for three days, mainly powered on during that), I am flat broke and do not want to buy a new monitor. Please help.

The monitor is an Acer G5 G215HVBbd Black 21.5" (on sale at newegg)

You have a defective monitor. You should get it replaced if it's only 3 days old.
