Approximate Purchase Date: This Week!

Budget Range: ~ $1000

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Web Surfing

Are you buying a monitor: No

Parts to Upgrade: CPU, Motherboard, Video Card (Possibly adding a PSU, questions about that farther down)

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Purchasing through my local Micro Center

Location: Denver Colorado

Parts Preferences: by brand or type: None Really

Overclocking:
Maybe a LITTLE

SLI or Crossfire: Open to adding second card in future, but not right now

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading:
So I'm upgrading because I have done so for every two or three years since I started building my own PC. I'm not having any problems with my current computer other than some of the parts becoming dated and sometimes barely clearing minimum system requirements for games that I want to play. Performance is starting to slow down with the newer generation games as well so. Overall it's just time to upgrade again!

Parts I'm Buying:

CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K 3.4GHz Socket LGA 1155

Motherboard:Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H LGA 1155 Z77 ATX

Video Card: Gigabyte GV-N670C-2GD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 2048M

http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml...

Total Purchase Price: $737, that leaves me with about $270 left over from my budget.

I've used the eXtreme websites PSU calculator for all the new parts plus what I already currently have and it says that they would recommend a 400W PSU to fit my needs. I am currently running this power supply, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371016 Should I upgrade to say a 700W or am I OK until I decide to run a second card?

Thank you so much for taking this time to read this and help me out!.

Now, I have two questions. First is the SSD. I currently have a 7200 WD 1TB HD that I've been using for about a year now without any problems. Would it be worth getting a 128GB SSD to put my games on for better performance? Is the performance noticeable enough to make it worth while? I really do not mind that it takes my PC about 30 seconds to boot into windows.

Actually, it should be the other way around. OS and some applications on the SSD, everything else on the HDD.
Aside from load time, game performance does not really benefit from being on the SDD.

Ok, so no SSD then. I'll add it later if I feel like it. Any ideas on the Power Supply?

Which PSU are you running now? Your link just goes to the top level at Newegg.

(but I'd get the SSD)

Ok so the PSU I have should be good unless I decide to add a second card, correct?
