Hi,

I would really appreciate help with my new 840 pro 128GB SSD.

I'm getting Random Write results of 4,717 IOPS in the Magician Benchmark.
Seems extremely low, it says out of 90,000!

I'm running Windows 7 64bit ultimate on an Asus P9X79, i7-3820 3.6GHz, 16GB RAM.

- Drive is connected to SATA3 6GB on-board port.
- Performed all the optimization processes in the magician.
- installed the latest Intel RSTe drivers from Asus web site.
- set all profiles to performance - bios, power, magician...
- Set manual paging file to 1024MB-2048MB (read somewhere it might help)

Thanks!!!

I'm assuming that you currently have the drive connected to an Intel SATA 3 (6Gb/s) port, and not one of the Marvell 6Gb/s ports.
Connect the drive to the 2nd Intel 6Gb/s port and retest.

Thanks for the reply!

My P9X79 board has 2xSATA3 (grey) and 4xSATA2 (blue).
Asmedia and Intel controllers?

Changed the SSD from port1 to port2. no change in IOPS benchmark.
Although sequential Read climbed to 559 on the magician benchmark.

edit: bios and ssd firmware were both updated to latest versions from the beginning.
