My specs

Intel i5 750 @ 2.66 GHz
Asus P7P55D LE
Gskill Ripjaws DDR3 2x4GB 1600mhz
MSi N680GTX Twin Frozr II OC Edition
PSU Corsair TX750M
Windows 7 64 Ultimate

Around 1 month ago I began to notice sudden black screens on Windows sometimes followed by the classic vlddmkm driver error. So far I tried:

Updating video drivers
Disabling Nvidia Audio drivers
Cleaning the whole hardware (it wasn't dirty anyway)
Removing and placing the video card again on the PCIE slot
Setting the TDR registry thingy

It happens randomly, I could be browsing, watching a movie or playing. The GPU temperature is fine even with full load.

What I notice on MSI Afterburner is that almost all the values will go to zero on the black screen event followed by the driver recovery. The only value that will go straight up is Power.

Another interesting thing is that the GPU voltage, that always remains in 0.987 on iddle or low load will obviously reach sometimes values around 1.2 on full load, but after the black screen event happens, it will (at least sometimes, don't sure if always) remain in the 0.987 value no matter what I do next. I could be playing or even running a stress test with Heaven Benchmark and it remains on 0.987! Obviously that seems wrong.

Any more tips or I must suppose that this video card is toasted? BTW I ran a EVGA OC Scanner X for several minutes and 0 artifacts as result.

Hi,

I had the same kind of problems with geforce 660, Updated to 320.18 and the problem is gone.

Else I thing in a few month we will see that Nvidia 600 and AMD 7850 + has problems.

A lot post with that kind of problems are popping more and more on the forums

I just did that and today the problem persists. And again, after the black screen and the driver recovering, voltage won't rise over 0.987v (before the event was 1.125 with some load) no matter what I do next, causing that every thing that demands GPU will cause again a black screen and driver recovery. I mean, I was just browsing sigh...

Any other suggestions? Should I try updating Windows?

Yesterday I hadn't any incidents, I did a lot of browsing and played League of Legends for hours. Completely random and not load related.
