Im having Ram problems, i currently have 4gigs installed and only 3.25g usable in single channel mode. When i put the ram in dual channel mode it only registers 2g single channel, it doesnt even register the other ram stick! So thats why they are currently in single channels. If someone knows how to fix this please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated!

Here are my specs...
OS - windows 7 64bit
Processor - AMD athon 64 X2 6000+
Mainboard - ECS Geforce 8000 series black edition, with chipset nvidia nforce 720a, bios american megatrends inc. v. 080015
Memory - Corsair DDR2 2 sticks that are combined total of 4096(2048 each stick) mbytes in single channel mode.
Graphics Card - Nvidia Geforce 9800GTX+
Mouse - Razer Death adder mouse
Monitor - Samsung syncmaster 226bw
Keyboard - microsoft digital media pro keyboard
mousepad - steelseries

Well the OS needs some of the RAM, so I think that can be the reason for 3.25GB useable.

And maybe your motherboard doesn't support dual channel?

The RAM you use, did it all come together or have you bought the sticks at different times?

The motherboard supports up to 8gbs and supports dual channel, also the sticks did come in the same box

Sounds like one of the DIMMs is faulty. You may want to run Memtest86 (www.memtest.org). Test them individually.

Ive completed the test and it said that they passed.

How long did you run the tests for? I would run at least over night. Sometimes letting one or two passes run just isn't enough. Run these scans with stock clocks, voltage and timings if you are overclocking to make sure that it isn't an unstable overclock that is causing the problems.
