Hello, just wondering for a build I'm planning for my dad who's using CAD software specifically autocad 2013. As such I'm speccing up a new pc for one of his staff and I would like to know if anyone knows which is better, both the quadro 600 and gtx 670 fit into the budget and as such price isn't the biggest of issues. Many like me just look at the hardware and expect the 670 to trample the quadro however I'm inexperienced with CAD so please any input is valuable. - Conor

Quadro series is made for workstations, so basically it's made for CAD. However, one cannot go wrong with a 670 as it can easily handle CAD (I have one) and, if your dad feels the need to, play games as well for fun. The Quadro focuses on things like CAD whereas the 670 is more broad and can do many things. Though, it may not do as well in the CAD department (however I believe that it does and most likely outperforms such a lower end workstation card), I've had no issues running multiple programs such as AutoCAD and Maya. Knowing that, it comes down to a matter of preference.

Do you feel that the far greater performance of the 670's hardware could outdo the drivers for autocad then as quite honestly that's all the quadro's have in my eyes - they really just look like a premier price for less in my eyes :')

Generally the proper tool for graphics design, content creation, and rendered engineering production work would be a Quadro card. These graphics cards are specifically built for these tools, and yes part of that is a set of drivers specifically designed (and supported) for these select software tools. However, in this case you are comparing the Quadro 600, one of the entry-level production graphics cards, with a GeForce GTX 670, which is one of the faster desktop graphics cards available today. It's kind of like comparing a Ford Focus to a Ford Mustang. Both cars are made by the same manufacturer, both have the capabilities of driving you from point A to point B, and while the Focus may be more efficient at getting there, the Mustang has ridiculously more power to do the same thing.
