Hi everyone.

I am wondering if I will run in to many problems if I replace my c2d e6750 with a core 2 quad, which one I am still unsure.

Computer hardware:
MB:Asrock g41m vs3 r2.0
CPU: Core 2 Duo e6750 2.66Ghz
GFX:GTX 650ti 2gb

Many thanks!

Edit: Just to eloborate. I would like to know if I might have any problems with booting after installing the CPU. Will I need a fresh install? I have heard replacing a CPU with one of the same socket is usually stress free, but I want to make sure before I spend.

Thanks for the link.

I've got my eye on a Q9550 that is selling very cheap in my country. I am thinking I will need a better processor to play some of the next gen games on PC. This should keep me going atleast for another year or two I hope.

Windows shouldn't complain. Your bios might, but that's not a big deal. How easy it is will depend on your case. If you have a large case with a nice sized cut out behind the board then its easy. If not, you might have to remove the motherboard from the case and that will take time. A 9550 should give you a good boost in games.

Well it depends on the resolution you game at, but if you OC the Q9550, you could get 2years+ out of the 775 socket. Considering you are already on DDR3.
