Hey there, i recently bought a new set of ram(g.skill ripjaws gaming series 2x4gb) and well when i replaced them and started up my pc, it made a beep noise.
I know this means that my pc doesn't detect it. But the problem is when i reinstall the old ram, the same thing happens?? Any ideas on how to fix this?
Specs:

gigabyte ga-78lmt-s2p
old ram(corsair xms3 ddr3 2x1)
new ram(g.skill ripjaws gaming series 2x4)
Gigabyte gtx 650 ti oc
Amd fx-4100

Solution
Unplug the power, pull the sticks, either remove the battery for about 30 seconds or do a hard reset with the CMOS jumper pin (see your manual), then start with a single stick in slot 1 closest to the CPU and give it a shot
Most new mb with a speaker give one beep to show good post. If the mb had an issue with the ram you might have to clear the CMOS. Check that the old ram in the right slots and locked in. not all ram will work 100 percent in every mb. Make sure your mb bios has the newst bios file.
Before you install the ram check with the mb vendor qa for ram and see if the ram on the mb tested list. With older mb I try and se crucial memory I find it works 90 percent of the time. They have a great memory finder program on there web page.

I have one more question, i turned off my pc and plugged in the second ram. It turned on and everything booted up, however, when i checked the pc settings, only 1 of the ram was working?
