Very difficult installing windows 8 on my custom asus 990fx r2.0, amd fx-8350... Wanted to share since the web helped me diagnose the issues
First issue: windows logo plus circling dots appear and never disappear for hours.
Solution: BIOS change all drive properies to IDE from AHCI
Second issue: After windows first blue screen arrives, a window flashes, disappears and you enter an auto restart loop of death.
Solution: right before blue screen appears and while its appearing, press all the f1-12 keys over and over randomly... lol... fucking microsoft.
Third Issue: After all that most of windows appears to be installed, now its prompting me to personalize... as if.... anyway, I select my color and give my computer a name.... now all I see is my selected color and an odd little icon in the left lower corner... why did I buy this?
Solution: keep waiting... lol..... 8 minutes or so.
