Hey so I am looking into getting a Delta 120mm 4000rpm case fan. I can get either a 4-pin PWM or 3-pin TAC version of the seemingly same fan.

This is my psu:

So please can someone explain to me, which fan would be a better choice and work with my psu? The fan connector piece for my psu, it has 4 holes. That would mean its for a 4-pin PWM? (That is also what my current case fans are plugged into.)

OK. First, there are different 4 pin connectors. The PWM fans with 4 pin connectors are small plugs that look identical to the 3 pin "TAC" plugs you reference. They just have an extra wire for Pulse Width Modulation speed control and are slightly wider because of that. Neither will connect directly to the PSU without an adapter.

The 3 and 4 pin connectors that come with fans are designed to plug into the fan headers on the motherboard. In order to connect them directly to the PSU, you will need an adapter.

Many fans come with one of these.
