Hey guys right now I live in a rural area and have terrible internet at best 2mbps and usually 1mbps and I play online games. I am thinking about upgrading to dish.net it says it can offer 7mbps speed and I was wondering if this would work for online gaming.

It would help with the speed but a dish would cause ping issues as it is sattelite based it takes time for information to up and down from space. In fact it might make games unplayable at all as i heard it can have up about 850ms not to mention if you have Dish as TV service when you have those stormy days it does not work at all.

you asked if it would work with games, yet you already know the answer. call them and ask what upload and ping speeds they offer. what service are you using now?

call 1-800-ok-cable. they will tell you if you can get cable in your area. if you can, most cable providers offer cable internet. i would not suggest switching to dish, i dont think it will change your gameplay. you need to find an alternate method.
