Hi all.

I have a HP G6-2005ax laptop with AMD A8-4500M and Radeon HD 7670M GPU. I recently installed hwmonitor on my laptop and found that the CPU temperature is running at a minimum temperature of 100C and my GPU's temperature is a minimum of 55C. I was quite surprised at this and went online and read that normal temperature of a laptop CPU is around 50C. Now whenever I used my laptop, it has always felt cool unless I was playing games. The only time the laptop shuts down due to overheating is when I play high-end games for too long(temperature goes upto 144C).

Here is my question:
Is this normal for a laptop? If not, should I give it to a HP service center to check for any problems or is it maybe a problem with hwmonitor software?

It's not unsual for laptops to get very warm; though of course it's not good if

it's too warm either, as you've found. Check the exhausts for dust or take a part the

laptop and clean it for dust. You can find videos on how to do it for your model I'm sure.

A can of compressed air is also a solution for many. Ruling out malware, those attempts usually help

if you've never cleaned it before.
