i recently bought a 64gb adata sp900. and after i mounted on the bracket i noticed something amongst all my new parts that looked like it could only belong to the ssd. it is a plastic protective looking layer with the middle removed (i assume so you can still see the label on the ssd) and it is applied as a sticker. So without thinking i put it on the top of my ssd. after looking at some unboxing of the product i see that no one else has this. will this cause my ssd to overheat due to lack of heat dissipation? is this part used as a protective layer?

That shouldn't overheat in any case due to this.
But I would recommend taking it out, there is no need for it to be there.

Nah .. SSDs emit a very very low level of heat, much less than anything else in a computer. There are no chances of overheating.
But as I said, I don't see any reason it should be there. You should remove the sticker.
