My specks:
Windows 7 64-bit

CPU:Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 2.83GHZ

RAM: 4.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 399MHz

Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5Q PRO TURBO (LGA 775)

Graphics Card: (1440x900@60Hz) 1023MB GeForce GTX 550 Ti (EVGA)

Just bought myself a Haf 922 but havn't had the chance to try it out yet.
On my last computer, with the same specs mind you, the graphics card especially got really hot. My last tower was medium sized.

Here's my old case:

Is this a problem I could fix without upgradng or do I need to get some new tech?

Looks like a dust problem. Your CPU heatsink is full of it so the GPU likely is full of dust as well.

If you do not have a rear exhaust fan, get it asap.

Dust is now no longer a problem as I got a new tower. However what I wanted to know is what I should do with this hardware?.

Is it necessary to get newer stuff or am I safe with this lot?

That all depends on what you want to do with the computer. If it is powerful enough, don't upgrade.

Well I was lookin to play at least most of my games on pc for a while since the Xbox One doesn't look like its up to par.

Could I play most new games with these specs? Not on full obviously.

At low settings, you should be able to play.

Thanks for the info. One last last question lol.

I was planning to upgrade one peice of my tech anyway, but I since Im on a budget of only one piece of equipment; which peice of this Rig is lagging behind the hardest, behind the times?
Since I've bought a decent Tower I dont need to worry about most cooling problems since Dust getting into it is pretty much impossible now.

Dust will still get in. A new tower doesn't stop dust.

Your rig is pretty evenly matched for itself.

I would upgrade the GPU to something like an hd7850 and then worry about the CPU/motherboard/RAM next.

Really? I would thought the card was the best part of it. Its only a few years old.

It was a lower end card when it was new. It is holding you back the most at this point.

Generally mid-range GPUs stay mid range for about a year or a year and a half.
