good day to you all. i hope someone here can help me.
i have a usb 3.0 external drive with 1 terabyte of space, connected thru usb 2.0 port and cable. being that the drive is sata internally i took the drive out of the enclosure and hooked it inside my pc. i rebooted and the drive was not seen by device manager, my computer or computer management/ disk management. so i took it out and placed it back in the enclosure. when i rebooted the drive did not show up in my computer but it did show up in device manager and computer management/ disk management. i went to computer management/ disk management and it said that the disk needs to be initialized. i clicked on the button to initailize and a popup said "the drive is not ready". i tried again and again, taking the drive in and out of the enclosure and plugging it up to the sata ports, back n forth to no avail. the drive worked perfectly all the time i had it until now. can someone please explain to me what is wrong? thank you in advance

no not at all. i very carefully removed it from the enclosure and plugged it up to the sata port and power port. back and forth i tried it to no avail. i havent a clue. it must be the drive because it should have been recognized when i plugged it up internally. hundreds and hundreds of gigabytes lost
