Minecraft not using enough resources (CPU usage low)

I have a problem..
When I play Minecraft, my CPU usage stays somewhere around 60% max and I'm not getting enough fps to run some graphical mods like SEUS. GPU usage is usually something like 80-90% and ram is barely used at all (like 700mb used out of 4096mb allocated)

I have:
Intel i5-2500k
ASUS HD 7870 DCII V2 2Gb
Asrock z77 pro3
Seagate spinpoint 1Tb 7200rpm

Minecraft with Sonic ether's unbelievable shaders gets like 25-35fps. I got the same fps with my old GTX 560 OC, and I know that the HD 7870 and i5-2500k can get more than 50fps with the same mods and everything.

Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you!:)

Theres a mod for it called optifine, that allows you to finely adjust the graphics, and it also allows for multi-threaded optimization

Hi! As you can see from my post, I have played minecraft with SEUS, which requires to have optifine installed.
So, I have pretty much used Optifine, and I'm still using it. I have tweaked everything in optifine settings, but nothing with optifine is affecting cpu usage, well maybe multi-core threading, but still, cpu usage stays at 60% tops.

other procedures, what I have made are: Installed all available drivers, set priority high for java trough task manager and tried different versions of SEUS. Nothing seems to help.

But thanks anyway!

Oh, my apologies, what version of java are you running?

According to control panel, my java version is 1.7.0_21, the latest. I think.

Oh, sorry. I thought it could be seen from the version. Anyway, I have 64bit. :D

Alright, then it sounds quite odd.

Well, I came to the conclusion by looking at the core usage percentages of all cores from the resource monitor (CPU section). They are all hanging somewhere around 50-60%.
