Ok you will have to do it manually. Go into the bios, find the memory options. There might be an option with memory speed ranges from 1066, 1333, 1600 and perhaps beyond. You're looking to select the 1600 option then save and exit. If there isn't an option for that, you will have to go into the memory timing options and make sure you enter what's listed on your memory. It'll be a set of 4 numbers for example 9-9-9-24. Change the setting to your memory's listed settings and that should do the job. If that doesn't work you may have purchased a motherboard that doesn't support overclocked RAM.

Well, that's the mobo - with this chipset, you'll need a 3rd gen CPU to run 1600, what are you running? If you have a 3rd gen, do you have the latest BIOS? If not, update that. Then if after updating or if you have the current , then reset the CMOS (direction in manual), then try setting DRAM to 1600 manually, set the timings per spec for the sticks, and set the VCCSA to 1.14, then give it a try. If you don't have a 3rd gen you are stuck at 1333, though should be able to tighten the timings down to increase performance i.e. if the sticks are 1600 at 9-9-9-24 or waht ever drop each of the first three timings by 1 i.e. to 8-8-8-24

If you look at specs for Intel SB CPUs the native DRAM support is listed as 1066/1333, take a look here:

http://ark.intel.com/products/52210/Intel-Core-i5-2500K-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_70-GHz

in the Memory Specs.

Unfortunately, while this could easily (fairly easily anyway) be 'fixed' in a BIOS update, however most mobo manufacturers aren't apt to do so, if they did support higher DRAM in the lower end mobos, then they might lose sales of the higher end ones which is where there profit is...to me these are like teaser chip sets to let you get the feel of the power of the CPU and want more, so they try to get you to upgrade to a higher end mobo and they they get another sale and thus MORE profits
