Optical Drive for Windows 7 64 bit help?

From ASUS' web page for that specific optical drive it clearly lists Windows 7 and Windows 8:

Since the drive uses discs up to 4.72" (12cm) in diameter the drive can't possibly be 3.5" so that must mean it's a 5.25" drive.
