Should I buy a Haswell processor?

I'm building a gaming PC; this is my first gaming build and I am very troubled about which processor I should buy, Ivy Bridge i5-3570k or Haswell i5-4670k. Even though Haswell isn't that much better than the Ivy Bridge for desktop gaming, I figured I might as well get the newest CPU and motherboard. I also am not big on overclocking, and even if I did OC then it would only be to about 4.4 GHz. Which should I go with?

I recommend going with Haswell for a couple reasons.

1. Socket 1155 is basically dead, to buy Ivy for a fresh build now basically means you will have no upgrade path. Haswell is the first 1150 processor so odds are there will be another 1150 generation and you can upgrade without having to buy a new motherboard.

2. While Haswell is a small performance increase over Ivy and Sandy, its still an increase. While not worth upgrading from 1155, its worth it to start fresh with it.

no doubt the haswell will cost a pretty penny. so it depends; do you want to invest for the future or get the most 'bang for you buck' today? If you want to upgrade in future on the same motherboard, go for the haswell. If you will be happy for a few more generations of processors, then an ivy will do just fine. As mentioned, haswell isnt a huge performance increase so you won't really see any performance difference in games if you have the same graphics. Thats a point, if you are splashing out on a good graphics card, then the 'more powerful iris' graphics on the haswell wont make the blindest bit of difference, which is where a lot of the research and development has taken place.
