RAM speed lower than expected.

Hello again everyone! Been here a lot recently XD

Anyway, was just fiddling around looking at CPU-Z and I noticed that my 8GB of SAMSUNG DDR3 RAM was running at 667MHz rather than the 1333MHz it should be, even in game (I loaded up Minecraft, pretty sure that is pretty RAM heavy?)

Come to think of it, when I was running a memtest86+ test recently I am pretty sure it was at 667MHz aswell there but I didn't really think anything of it at the time...

Any ideas?
Conor

Did you go into your BIOS settings and set the XMP profile or manually select the rated speed and timings for your memory?

ddr ram stands for double data rate, which means 667 x 2 = 1333mhz

your ram is properly configured and running at the advertised speed.
