Using Crossfire graphics cards and iGPU for 3 monitors

Hey guys,

I have seen a lot of stuff about using the iGPU in conjunction with a single GPU to provide multi-monitor support. I was wondering if this was possible using 2 or 3 way crossfire as well. Or do all the video channels get absorbed by the multiple PCI slots.

I currently use my HD7850 (crossfired) to power 3 monitors. Which works great but I have had some reoccurring issues with cards dying on me. I think it might be due to the need for an active DP to VGA/DVI adaptor. So my question is can I throw the small 19" monitor that I use on to my onboard graphics to reduce the need for additional adaptors on my cards.

Now that my PC is repaired I could answer this question myself and I hope someone finds it useful.

You can run a third Monitor using the iGPU. It does not limit the performance of any of the crossfired GPUs. You do need a lucid logic MVP driver to create proper emulation of the port.

As a warning to Bitcoin/litecoin miners. This caused cgminer to crash when the setting was activated.
