I have a Dell Dimension C521 with 512 MB of RAM. It has 4 Dim Slots. I assume I can put (4) 512 MB sticks in it for a max of 2 GB. My question is how much can it actually hold? 4 GB, 8 GB? Not that I would actually put 8 GB in it or anything. Please let me know if I can put 4 GB in it.

Your PC uses DDR memory, that is ANCIENT. You will struggle to find DDR1 memory... Anyway. It can take up to 2GB from what I can find on the net, but that will not really increase your performance by much.

Why are you looking for more RAM?

DDR memory would sell for a fortune these days. (Antique) Just buy/build a new computer.

I have plenty of DDR, DDR2 & DDR3 RAM. I wanted to boost it up to 2 GB atleast, reformat the hard drive, install W7 on it and given it to my mother to begin learning computers. Nothing fancy or a speed demon or anything. I will have to put NO money into it. Just some time. It has a 160 GB Hard Drive. Thanks to all of your that answered.
