Hi i'm going to build my very own PC for the 1st time, and I was wondering if this is a decent gaming PC. I'm on a tight budget so this is what I can afford.

Will this build work? I'm worried that one of the components wont work with the rest of the build (ex. if the gpu/cpu will be compatible with the mobo and vice versa)

-AMD FX-6300 3.5ghz cpu http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4904562&sku=A79-8351

-sapphire 7770hd 1GB GDDR5 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7847465&csid=_61
edit:(i didn't know there were 2 diff. kinds of the sapphire 7770. apparently the previous one was OC'd)

-Corsair 300r mid-atx case http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1723741&sku=C13-6300

-Silverstone ST45SF 450w psu http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4166607&sku=S35-2105

-Gigabyte GA 970a-DS3 mobo http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2932738&sku=G452-8442

-Seagate barracuda 1TB hard drive http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=744346&sku=TSD-1000AS7

-Samsung SH-224BB internal dvd drive http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4814646&sku=S203-8592%20OEM

-Crucial ballistix 8GB DDR3-1600MHz ram http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1412141&sku=C19-6177

I'm not a tech savvy, so feedback would be much appreciated.

p.s. this build will cost me about 600$

Those specifications are presuming that you have the crappiest power supply out there.

The OC version should work fine on a 450 or 500w power supply.

That being said, no matter what, you should always get a VERY GOOD QUALITY power supply - it's the most important part of a computer, because if the PSU fails (as low quality ones are wont to do), it could set the computer on fire, fry your components, or explode.

The xfx 550w that was recommended is made by seasonic, and is a very good power supply - it would also let you use a more powerful graphics card in the future if you wanted to upgrade...
I just checked, 450W PSU is more than enough.
His whole system estimated wattage usage is 270W.

Why should he opt for 600W? Hey stick to 450W, you can even crossfire that card in that much power.

But change the company to either Seasonic or Corsair CX Series.

Apparently the first gpu link I posted led to the OC version of the 7770 that req. 600w. The one I meant to link/want to buy req. 400w

I just finished comparing the two psu and I realized that the xfx psu has one 4-Pin Floppy Connector whereas the silverstone has 2. Should I be concerned about this? Might I ask what are those used for? I'm paranoid about components missing a cable/not working with rest of build (not trying to say that I don't trust you guys, mind you)

I can, but I don't really like the idea that it's gonna ship separately(aka more shipping/tax fees)
