Help With My External Hard Drive Please

Hi,
When I plug in my Sylvain Willenz FREECOM external hard drive I hear faint beeping followed by silence and my laptop doesn't recognize it at all. Please help!!! How do I repair it? I'm in China and cant run it down to the local tech shop and I am not savvy at all!!!

Hi Tracy,
that sounds like a dead drive. Does it do the same, when connected to an other computer? Do you have a chance to get the disk out of the enclosure and connect it a an internal drive to a PC?
