Error applying transforms - AMD Catalyst Install Manager

I'm receiving the a message "error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid."

I think the cause of it was when I downloaded CCC online but then re-downloaded it when I inserted the AMD driver CD. I noticed that there was 2 Install managers. It allowed me to uninstall one, but the second one gave me the error message.

I run Windows 8 and the graphic card is a Sapphire HD 7950.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

  1. If you installed one version from your pc (the downloaded version) and one from the driver CD, you probably uninstalled the downloaded version.

Put your driver cd back in and then try the uninstall with the cd in the drive.

I have tried that. When I used the CD uninstallation, it say there is no AMD drivers to uninstall.
  3. It appears I'm just making things worse now...

I tried to install the drivers from the CD once again so I could use CCC but during the download process it crashes and I get the BSOD irql_not_less_or_equal.
  4. Do NOT use the cd to install drivers. Download ccleaner and use the uninstall feature with that program. Then run the ccleaner to clean the cruft out of your registry. Also download and run driver sweeper to cleanout and other junk.

Download the latest driver and ccc from AMD and install that.
