What is normal power consumption for a gaming machine?
I measured my systems power consumption and i nearly choked seeing that it was around 200 watts under load.
What could i do to reduce my power consumption?

Specs are

Core I5 3570k
8gb Ram
Inno3D GTX560 1GB
Asus P8H61-M LE
Aopen Nagas G5 Case
ThermalTake litepower 500 watt
Lamptron FC-5 V2 fan controller
2x 500GB samsung Sata 2 mechanical harddrive

Would upgrading and removing one of my mechanical hard disks reduce power?
The power supply is awful i know and its on the list of things to upgrade but at the moment im not pleased with the ammount of power im drawing

Solution
HERE is a nifty little tool that may help you. If you know your electric cost ($ per kwh), it will give you a pretty fair estimate. I'm guessing you might spend ~$10/month if you are gaming hard.

Im measuring at the wall power consumption i know that this can run the setup as ive been running it without any issues for nearly a year, after reading some of these other threads about this ive seen that my systems at the wall power consumption is actually quite low in comparison to most other machines

Ok after looking more in depth about this i have found that my systems power consumption is actually quite low and i have found some ways to minimize power usage when the system doesnt need the extra performance.
