Hey would a evga gtx 570 with a amd fx 8320 be able to run battlefield 3 at ultra and still get over 45 fps thx in advance

Solution
you'll be cutting it close if 1080p is the resolution your playing at, should be able to average 49fps on ultra at 1080p, that doesn't mean it will drop though.

although i recommend dropping settings down as from experience in bf3 except shadows and AA, there is little noticeable difference between the graphic settings, except that there are massive boost in performance.

the 660 no, my brother has a 660ti in his computer and can't manage 60 with ultra settings.
the 670 is different, i would recommend that, as it runs ultra at around 60 (i think 57 is it's average) with ~70 being it's max, and ~45 being it's lowest

you can do even better for $100 more then the 670 and hit up the 770, which is described as "a 680 on steriords"
so for ultra at 60, i wouldn't go less then the 670

its the weird thing with nvidia, the x60's are always not enough to max out the most demanding games, but comes close, then there is a huge performance gap between the 60 and 70, and the 70 may come out to be too much for what you need. Or at least thats how it's been since the 400 gen.

however if you turn settings down on things that during a firefight you wont pay attention to, like AA, lighting method, possibly shadows. then a 660ti will suit you fine

the 660ti beats the 7870 in most tests.
just got to remember that BF3 is a very detailed game, that also suffers from some poor optimization, you'll need to drop some more cash into a GPU then most would be willing too do
how much room in the budget do you have left for a gpu after adding up the rest of your parts?

going to pop in a 660ti EVGA SC into my system put all settings maxed out and see how that goes.

well i just benchmarked bf3 with the 660ti, I used the ultra preset and used the level "going hunting" since it is the standard for benchmarking BF3 (also happens to be on of the least demanding missions, but i like to stick with the trend)
my results
Frames: 47423 - Time: 539483ms - Avg: 87.905 - Min: 50 - Max: 149

if you want me too, i can also do a more demanding mission (like Op Guillotine) to get more accurate results

this is a link to the exact same card i used http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130812

CPU and GPU don't have to be the same manufacturers, an AMD cpu will work with an Nvidia gpu, and it should run very smooth in multiplayer

oh and the CPU i have is a i7 3770k

just make sure your PSU can run it though.
