Best card to get for around £200

Hi, I have been looking into many cards lately as I have wanted to upgrade. The 4 cards I have saw which have caught my eye have been HD 7870, HD 7950, gtx 660ti and gtx 670. I have also considered crossfireing my 6870 but I have heard a few bad things about it.

My specs:
Amd phenom ii x4 965
HD 6870
Motherboard: asus M5A99X EVO (if I remember that correctly)
Hybrind synergy 504w
I also play on a resolution of 1680x1050

Cheers.

  1. HD 7870 I would say is the best bet for your money.
  2. I could go over about 30-50, I have saw a few gtx 670's going for that price also a HD 7950 boost.

The 7950 is way better than the 670.
  4. I keep seeing HD7950s being praised for their value for money, especially as new AMD drivers are released and moreso if you are looking into overclocking.
  5. But wouldn't I have to overclock the 7950 for it to reach the 670's performance ??

Not exactly unless that is when/if you are play highly nvidia biased titles like BF3 and Batman. Even then the HD 7950 is within a stones throw even without OC. Typically an OCed HD 7950 will bang with the GTX 680 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcKWzVkgspc
  7. Ok so if I went for the 7950 should I pay that extra £30 for the boost version on sapphire ??

That's up to you but it's really not need at 1080P the HD 7950 is more than enough to run games at max.
