I just setup my Linksys wireless router using a cd and installing it with Cisco connect with my laptop. After waiting for it too finish, setting up a password and username ect. It told me I am connected too the router but that I may need to reset my modem to access Internet. I tried unplugging and resetting both my modem and router with the button and by unplugging them. My iPhone and laptop both say that there connected to the router but I can't actually access Internet! What do I do?

Is the modem plugged into the wan port of the router?? On the cable modem is the pc data port flashing?? Comcast and other cable system look for the Mac info of the pc that the account is reg to. In the router you might have to clone your desktop Mac info.

Everything seems plugged into the correct places. I'm starting to wonder if possibly the modem needs something because my laptop tells me that it's connected to the router but the router isn't connected to the Internet. But I'm also unsure because I have a old belkin router that is set up and plugged in the same way and will work fine.

I hard plug your apropos into the router and log into it. If there more then one linksys router in range you could log into a friends unit and changed there settings. In the router pages make sure dhcp is turned on. There also test button to see if the router is connected right. When I set up modem and router. I turn both off then plug the modem in first and let it post. When it done posting I then turn on the router.
