How much Ram for Rendering?

Hello, so I am building a PC for gaming and rendering. I was wondering how much ram is sufficient for rendering with Sony Vegas, would 8 gigs be fine? Or do I really need to step up to 16 gigs? Any answer would be great, thanks

It will run ok. I use Sony Vegas now and then with 8gb of RAM and it works perfectly.

I use this CAS 8 Mushkins in rendering builds as a "starting point"

Id also make sure you get a CPU w/ hyperthreading 3770k / 4770k and CUDA capable (nVidia) GFX card

Might well depend on what your working with believe 4 is min, 8 recommended...so if you may be working good size project or multi-tasking at the same time, might want to go 16GB if it's feasible budget wise, rather than possibly have to go through the hassle of upgrading later
