current config - 8800gt, core 2 quad q6600, 1 tb + 500gb hdd, 3 X 2gb RAM, SATA DVD WRITER and i have a D-link LAN card on the pci port

1. Get the 650 Ti Boost

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-650-ti-...

Quote:
With the Radeon HD 7770 at $120, Radeon HD 7790 at $150, and Radeon HD 7850 above $180, Nvidia is rendering all three products ineffectual at their respective price points. With one swift stroke, the company engineered a hostile takeover of the $100-$200 market, increasing graphics performance at any given budget in that space.

2. 500 watts works

http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gt...

Minimum System Power Requirement = 500 W

Bro don't worry about the PSU nazis as they are bound to disagree but the fact is I ran a GTX 275 OCed on a Cooler Master RS 460 for well over a year 24/7 with some week long Bitcoin mining sessions. I am still using the same PSU today on a new GPU HD 7850 and is works great.

Cooler Master RS 460watt, Gigabyte OCed HD 7850 1GB, dud (160watt TDP) Phenom II x4 955 @ 3.6Ghz, WD Caviar Black 500GB, 4GB Ram, LG IPS, LED 23" 1080P monitor, Asus Xonar DGX, Sound Blaster Recon 3D headphones. Play's any game and does any task like a peach.

As a rule of thumb Cooler Master PSUs are not all junk in fact their high end stuff is magnificent but some of the value oriented stuff is rather low quality so better to go with Antec or XfX/Seasonic etc... for that.
