Not sure if you are pushing your youtube video to get a payment or if you just do not know that this is old news, maybe you are just new to the field. Session hijacking is only a tiny part of the problems that can occur when using open wireless. Still vpn is overkill for most people. As long as the site you are access uses HTTPS you are likely safe as long as you don't ignore warning about invalid certificates. Although you can hijack the session it does no good without the generated keys.

Ah, def not the former reason. Still learning about VPN's and networking and was pretty fascinated to discover this! Thanks for sharing the valuable information :) You mentioned that there are other issues with using an open Wireless hotspot. Can you share some? I'm interested in learning about the problems!
