Which one of these would you recommend i buy? im looking for something to play games on medium to high or better if possible and i would also llike the cpu chosen to last me 3 years or longer if possible im buying this instead of the new consoles coming out iv always been a console gamer but wanna give pc gaming a swing instead other then gaming i will be doing basic computer stuff just online web browsing youtube, netflix, social networking (forums and facebook and such)

1. i5 3470 http://pcpartpicker.com/user/ForteEXE/saved/1JK6 (This is my non ocing build since i have no idea how to oc anyways and im not sure how important it even is i thought id get a non oc for like 180 and get a better GPU but with this chip im buying a dead socket with haswell being out making later upgrading more $)

2. FX-8350 http://pcpartpicker.com/user/ForteEXE/saved/1JKl (This is a ocing capable processor for not too much more then the i5 3470 and i hear future console games are using 8 cores so this could be a good choice also the next series of amd processors are still using the AM3 chip set making a MOBO i get for this reusable)

3. i5 3570k http://pcpartpicker.com/user/ForteEXE/saved/1JKF (This is the cpu MOST people suggest it also cost the most... this one is also overcloackable but because of the higher cost i have to get a slightly cheaper GPU going with the HD 7850 instead of the 7870 and like the i5 3470 is also a dead socket making upgrading few years down the road more $ since haswell chip sets use a different socket)

With choice 2 and 3 i dont plan to oc at first since i dont know how and cant afford a aftermarket heat sink at the time of purchase but later down the road ill buy a heat sink and look into ocing to get more out of the cpu as it gets older and more outdated by newer cpus being released.

So which one would yall recommend right now? and wich is best to choose for future proofing??? Which ever build you choose if you would make ANY changes to it what would the changes be keeping in mind im trying to stay as close to say 850 dollars as i possibly can...

3rd one is the best for your needs.

Any will do,but with only 20$ difference your choice is with 2 or 3.At this time the 3570k is the best but at 1080p you won't really notice a difference with the 8350.If games start using more than 4 cores the 8350 could be more future proof but for 3 years from now both will serve you well.Research all the alternatives and make your choice accordingly.

Is there any hindrance that prevents you from going Haswell?

In all honesty I don't think you would notice much difference using any of your three rigs. Your CPUs are within 1 level of each other on Tom's Hierarchy Chart and the same can be said of the GPUs. A small difference either way at most. The most improvement you can get with these CPUs is with a much improved GPU and with only a 20$ difference between all three, choice 2 or 3 make more sense than 1.

Haswell offers a small performance gain but allows an upgrade path the 3570k can't, so it would be a good replacement for choice 3 if the cost is reasonable.

there is a rumor out there that the next chip after haswell will be BGA not LGA.

if it is true it wont matter what board you have.

theories and speculation aside... if you go with either an i5-3570k or i5-4570k you dont have to worry about upgrading the cpu for a long time. by the time you are ready to upgrade you will want to upgrade the board, ram and gpu anyways which makes the point moot.
