Will an i5 4670 and GTX 780 be a good combo?

Hey guys thinking of building a gaming pc that uses a gtx 780. I was wondering if I use the 4670 cpu at stock speeds with the stock cooler, would I run into any problems? Also would a 620w psu be enough for this build?

Here is Guru3D's power supply recommendation:

GeForce GTX 780 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 550 Watt power supply unit.
GeForce GTX 780 2-way SLI - On your average system the cards require you to have a 800 Watt power supply unit as minimum.
GeForce GTX 780 3-way SLI - On your average system the cards require you to have a 1200 Watt power supply unit as minimum.

If you are going to overclock your GPU or processor, then we do recommend you purchase something with some more stamina.

The "K" unlocked version cost an extra $20 and then I have to buy a z87 mobo instead of h87 which cost and extra $30 and then I have to get a cpu cooler to overclock and since I am using the bitfenix prodigy as my case most cheap after market coolers such as the evo 212 don't fit on those itx mobos so I wd have to spend an extra $60 to get a h60 or some kind of cooler like that. So an extra $100 I don't really want to spend. If the locked version of the 4670 would not be enough for gpu I would pay the extra but just not sure if it is worth it. I am also considering the gtx 770. What do you think? The computer will be purely for gaming...

Google shows an Evo 212 fits just fine in a Bitfenix Prodigy, and really a Z87 motherboard isn't that expensive. I'm using a 3570k and 780, even at 4.5Ghz I'm finding in some games the CPU is holding it back, though they are rare.

If you are building a system with a 780, you obviously want the best gaming performance you can get, so why not go all out.

Code:

I agree I want to get the best components.
You are correct the 212 evo will fit in the prodigy case but the problem is that a 212 evo will not fit on an itx mobo, it covers the ram slots.. How can you tell if the cpu is slowing down your gaming? I've heard people say a stock 3570k is enough for sli....?

A stock 3570 should not bottleneck even a 2-way SLI configuration, your correct. But you must remember that some games are more CPU intensive (WOW & SC2 for example) so this can become game specific.

Would getting the i7 fix that?

In certain games (I noticed it most in Skyrim and BF3) the 780 barely increased my framerate over my old card (670). Looking at the CPU usage, which is very high, its easy to see why. Though in games that don't really use the CPU, like AC3 and Crysis 3, framerate goes through the roof.

Reason people say its enough for SLI is because you cant get any faster CPU's for gaming performance.

An i7 wouldn't fix it no, anything above an i5 for GAMING does not improve performance at all.

Ok thank you so much for the advice! So if I get a 4670K over clocked with a corsair h60 and a gtx 780 what psu would you recommend? And how much do I need to oc? Would 4.0 be enough? I have never overclocked before is it difficult? I don't want to destroy my new pc I am building haha!
