Onboard LAN not showing up as device

I have a Supermicro X9DAi-o dual 2011 motherboard which has two LAN ports. But when I look in device manager, they don't show up at all, in fact there are no flagged devices. So of course when I go to install the driver from the Supermicro website (labeled as Intel 350GbE), it says there is no recognized Intel device.

I have experienced this before, and it usually involves a simple enable/disable setting in the BIOS.

I've turned my BIOS inside and out and haven't had any luck, changing "network stack" and "enable LAN 1(/2) ROM" and just about anything with "LAN" in the title didn't do anything.

I plugged a cord into one of the LAN ports and one of the LEDs blinked orange on/off every second. The other LED didn't light.

Read my post...I already said I tried installing drivers.

You can't install drivers for a device that doesn't show up as a device. If they needed drivers, then they would show up as flagged in Device Manager.

Currently nothing shows up, and I'd like to know why.

Oh sorry. Possibly a faulty motherboard? I don't have a clue now.

Hmm could be, but everything else works flawlessly which seems rare for this board. I'm calling tech support tomorrow, seems like not enough people own this board out there to be able to help.

Nonetheless thank you for taking the time to respond!

i know this thread is old, but I recently encountered the same issue with the 2 onboard lans on a motherboard that came from the same manufacturer i.e. supermicro. Did you ever find a solution to this issue?

thanks!

Naw, I never found a solution. And supermicro tech support was barely helpful - I called three separate times, and each tech suggested the jumpers weren't set properly. But the jumpers are only used to disable the onboard LAN while default is enabled, and like most boards, the jumpers were already set properly from the factory when I opened the box.

Then they immediately suggested to RMA it, which bugged me that they refused to further troubleshoot it beyond "improper jumpers". I never bothered to RMA it and just bought a separate LAN card. The rest of the board worked great and is still doing so.
