Hey

So first time on the forum posting, as well as first time using windows 8. I do hope this is the correct thread for my issue.

Thought my new pc was ready to venture out into the vast www. Stopped on facebook to play my game, which for the last year has been riddled with flash crashes and other game issues.

So yeah, not 5 mins into my game and it froze. I never saw that error above when flash crashes. I waited...the sound turned off, the mouse went squirrely. I lost control completely. I tried to ctrl+alt+del BIG FAIL, next thing I know the entire game window (windows) went sideways on me, screen went dark, then locked up my pc. Thankfully a friend that I'd told what happened, suggested holding the power button down. That at least shut the lappy off. I'm now afraid to turn the thing on again and have my window still completely sideways or something worse. Any thoughts on wtf happened here or what I need to do to fix this before I try to turn it back on?

When you turn it on, and it's still sideways, i have an idea
now this way would work with W7, and i presume W8 too so just try it

Try hitting CTRL+ALT+[Up Arrow Key]
if that doesn't work, right click on desktop>graphic options>rotation

of course you'll have to read sideways to navigate there.

Thanks you two. I 'll be back with an update. This may take a while. It is still sideways, and windows has decided to do some updates on its own. Only at 15%, for the last 5 minutes. Really not liking windows 8. Nothing but problems so far. And just 5 days plugged in. =\

Thanks, kingjc100.
It was your second suggestion that did the trick. Do we know why or how this happened? Was it the ctrl+alt+del sequence? And can I change a setting so this doesn't happen again?
