I have tested the hardrive and it doesn't pass the test it says failed this happened for no reason so before I buy a new drive I wanted to make sure the old one is dead. Reinstalling windows wount go. Startup fix doesn't detct the drive even.

DOwnload hirem boot cd run hd tune or vendor test tool for hard drives from the boot cd. There also a mini xp on the boot cd to see if you can get your data off the drive. I would also check that all your fans are moving and the ram is seated. To rule out any other hardware failure.
