So I have a i5-3570k cpu and i just bought a new heatsink (hyper212 plus) to replace the stock intel one. So i removed the old one and then began putting in the hyper212. I messed up with the placement of the heatsink 3 times and each time i removed the thermal paste with a cutip that i dipped in 91% isopropyl alcohol. The the fourth time i set the heatsink down it wasn't in place so i lifted it off the paste and put it back down and got it in the right place and screwed it in. Now that everything is back in place i turned on my computer, and everything seemed fine. The temps are lower than normal at around 35C and go highest to like 45C. But my cpu% usage has gone through the roof. I can't even play games because they begin to studder and the CPU usage is at like 90%. It has never been that high until i put in the new heatsink. Could the alcohol have ruined the cpu? Or what do i need to do to fix this??

Solution
Boot into Bios and tell it to go back to stock. Also, remove the battery from the mobo and put it back in. (Or press the corresponding button for the reset.)
