Hello, I'm in abit of a situation here. I'm currently running a GTX 660Ti on a ASUS P8Z77-V motherboard and I also have a Creative Sound Blaster Z card.

My graphics card is placed in the main PCI-3 16x slot, while the Sound Blaster card is placed right above it in a PCI 1x slot. The problem I have is that there is like under 1cm space between the two cards, so I was wondering if I could actually place the sound card in the secound PCI-3 slot, but that would mean I'd only get 8x, 8x bandwidth, I know this has no influence with the sound card, but for the Graphics Card, would this have an inpact on my performance, running it as 8x instead of 16x?

I also have a PCI-2 16x slot all the way at the bottom as you can see in this picture here: http://cdn.overclock.net/1/1a/1a549c4a_13-131-819-Z03.jpeg
Could I place the sound card here? Without losing the 16x capability on my Graphics Card?

So are you saying that "most likely" if I plug the sound blaster card into the other PCI-3 slot (where SLI normally is used), it should not use 8x at all (since it's a 1x card)? Just clarifying as a percaution!

Question: Will my graphics card then run as 15x and 1x for the sound card?
Question: What is your suggestion to where I should put it? Bottom one just to be sure?

Sorry I'm so new to these things... :p

Not most likely, definitely, BUT you may need to limit it in the BIOS to only x1. And no, your main GPU slot will still be X16.
BUT its better to put it in the last slot PCI-E 3 in this case, since it allows more airflow to your GPU that way.
