Sorry to here it. Always back up as often you can. My sister in law lost 50k photos because of a mistake. Sure she backed up, a year and a half ago! I set mine up like this. My two SSD and RamDisk run what I am currently using. My hard disk updates all of that data daily. This large HD also holds all of my photos, vids, etc. That hard disk is back up weekly to an external disk which is then traded for another disk that's in a safety deposit box. About as safe as one can get.
If you cannot get the data yourself, you could go to a recovery agent, but that can cost well over a thousand dollars.
