Hi guys, I'm upgrading my GPU from my old 1gb GTX 460.

I'm stuck between buying a Sapphire Dual-X 7950 Boost and the MSI Twin Frozr GTX 670 (or the GTX 760 if it comes out this month). I've heard that Nvidia performs better with Skyrim and ENB in general but I've also been reading about AMD releasing a lot better drivers that increased performance in Skyrim. Also, the HD 7950 has the extra memory bus and Vram...

Obviously the AMD card is a better price per performance value but I won't be purchasing a new GPU for some time.

Just to be clear, I'm not only going to be playing Skyrim (I also will be playing BF3, Bioshock Infinite, etc), but I want a card that specifically would be the best for skyrim.

I'm just planning on playing at 1080p, single monitor, and I won't be adding a second GPU (so crossfire/SLI isn't an issue).

So I would love some suggestions! I'm trying to stay below $360 (the lowest 670 price I can find). Thanks.

go with 670, it performs way better than 7950.

Why not get the GTX 770? It's priced just about equally to the GTX 670 and it performs better than a Radeon 7970 GHz edition. :)

Well now, this solves everything. Wait for the 760/760ti (whichever it ends up being called) to come out and get that. It's supposed to only cost $299 for the base model and perform (supposedly) a little better than the 670.

I suppose thats true, I guess I could just play the waiting game and see when the elusive 760 comes out. Would that card be a better performing card than an HD 7950 boost? Assuming its even or slightly better than the GTX 670. I just see that the 7950 has a wider memory bus and more vram...

Yes i agree you might want to wait.If not MSI's GTX 670 Power Edition uses the famous Twin Frozr IV cooler from the MSI Lightning and comes with a large clock speed boost out of the box, making its default clock speed even higher than GTX 680 stock clocks. MSI is asking a $369.99 price for their card, which doesn't look unreasonable, given the improved cooling and higher clocks.I have two and do not regret buying them.
