Ok i got a DELL 790 desktop pc which is on 24/7 as i use it also as a DVR for my camera outside. Anyway got a bit of a odd one, every 2 weeks randomly the screen on my samsung 22" tv which i use it on the pc goes BLANK and shows NO SIGNAL. If i press menu and other inputs on the tv it works fine. Tried a different VGA cable too with no luck. I hooked up another pc to the samsung to rule out the samsung being at fault and it fired up ok.
To get the dell 790 working after this issue i simply power the desktop down from the power button then turn it back on and it fires up on the screen ok.
Ive kind of been into I.T for 13 years but never come across this problem? Maybe there is some kind of setting that i dont know about that times the connection out? im tempted to buy a graphics card but its a small form factor pc so its a bit crowded in there already and gets a little warm in my kitchen cupboard.
What can cause this? surely if its a faulty port then the fault will occur more often than every 2 weeks or so.
