Okay to start off i have a amd a10 5800k and a asrock fm2a75 pro 4 motherboard i have 6gb of ram. Now when i tried turning it on for the first time and every thing powered up but i got no display a error code came up on the motherboards led and it was 10 i looked in the manual what it meant and it says it is either a ram or a cpu problem. But if the cpu was fried would the motherboard even power on if it was fried? aswell i have had the ram lying around and i was not careful about static and might have fried the ram. now i read and saw that if ram is fried you wont get any display. So is my cpu fried which it dosent seem likely or is it my ram?

A dead CPU doesn't boot sounds like RAM. Make a bootable MEMTEST 86+ and use that to trouble shoot. You can try two sticks right off the bat and if that fails methodically test each one. If it does fail try putting the pair into different DIMM slots, if you went 1-3 try 2-4 and retest, if that failed go back to testing on 1-3. Now test the sticks separately, if you find a stick that shows up an error try moving that to the other paired slot and test it from there (So if RAM in DIMM 1 messed up move it to DIMM 3 and test it there). This way you'll be testing the board and RAM through your trouble shoot, just be methodical. Don't forget to vote please :)

Who's to say that it won't happen again with the next two sticks you buy? This is why you test them thoroughly. This happened to me and I just built this rig 6 months ago, I ordered from Newegg and one stick was bad so I went to a computer store near by and bought the same deal, turned out one stick was also bad as well. I took the two good sticks, stuck them into my computer and returned the more expensive purchase with the two bad sticks. A wise man learns from another's mistakes, a fool only learns from his own.

Mmmm... fried CPU...

Trying using one stick at time to see if the PC boots.

I tried using all of the different slots with the ram but it still dose not work as far as im concerned the ram is broken but if i put broken ram into a good slot on the motherboard could that break it.

No. Bad RAM will not damage a slot.

The last thing to do is to see if any of your friends are willing to you troubleshoot the issue to determine if it is the RAM, motherboard or both that are defective. If you can install your RAM into his/her PC and install his/her RAM into your PC that should definitely diagnose the problem.

If your RAM does not work in his/her PC, then your RAM is bad.

If his/her RAM does not work in your PC, then your mobo is bad.

It's not the RAM damaging the slot, I was talking about a possible defective slot. If you have someone that can lend you their computer to trouble shoot then more power to you but good luck on finding a person letting you open and tinker with their computer.

I tried different ram and i got the pc to boot up correctly but as of now i have no ram and was wondering could you use server ram instead of just normal ram or would i be better off getting normal ram. another thing im mainly using this for gaming so would server ram be okay for that?

server ram is suppose to be reliable and will be slower than non ecc ram for gaming, get reg ddr3, and if ur using no dedicated gpu and the a10s igpu then get at least 1866 or i guess 1600 since u had 1066 lol ull get better performance also maybe at least 4gb total. Also even u wanted to use server ram to get by not every board is compatible with it as i know my board can take ecc ram but i dont think urs specifically can
