Hello, I am going to be building my first gaming PC. I would love to be able to play games like DayZ and Batttlefield 3 on high settings. I have disassembled a few computer towers but never built one :p. This is what I have liked the best after extensive research lol and I'm hoping this is relatively future proof. If you have any recommendations PLEASE let me know :)

Well the 650 ti boost preforms 20$ better than the gpu u have currently selected at a 150$ price tag, and i would definitely go with the amd 6 core am3+ for your am3+ motherboard. Also check out G-skill ram, personally i think they are the best in the business and you can get the same clock or better with the same latency or better than corsair at the same price and there is a lifetime warranty....so yeah check it out, here is my suggestion http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231400. Also for keeping old hdd's just make sure they aren't too old and they still perform at their expected level if you are going to keep with the same one. Also unless you plan to upgrade later to an sli or other dual video card format later on, the 600watt psu sounds a little overkill, i would go 500 and save yourself ten bucks which i would then funnel into the 650tiboost to upgrade it to the 2gb version. Other than that, it looks good.

It would be good to eventually get a decent power supply. Poor or weak ones tend to give you more problems which can sometimes lead you to suspect you have issues with other components. Solid and reliable PSU's can give you stable performance and help with circuit shorts, etc.. You can use it for now, but just pay attention to any problems you have. As soon as you save up enough money, I suggest buying a better PSU.

As chaos2theory said, get 2GB video card. Don't settle to save money with a 1GB, you'll regret it and have to upgrade 1GB card relatively soon. Get a 650 Ti Boost or a 7850 2GB. If you're going to put down at least $150 for a card, spend an extra $20-$30 for a 2GB version, otherwise you just wasted $150.

The AMD 7850 out performs the 650 Ti Boost in most benchmarks. But both cards will give you similar performance.

Yeah definitely get a new power supply because a bad power supply as stated previously will just lead to way more problems than u will ever want and if u get a solid one like the one u had or the one i suggested then u will probably never have problems with it.

Nice set up! But I'm just wondering if the Motherboard I picked out has any advantages over this one due to its higher price tag, thanks!

Another question I have is whether or not the Fx 6100 is overkill, because for $20 cheaper I could get the Phenom ii X4 black edition which I've heard is a very good gaming processor, or one of the fx 4000 series processors. Would these cheaper processors bottleneck the radeon 7850 2gb or the 650 ti oc 2gb?

Ok so definitely go with the 6000 fx series, they are really not that much more expensive and it will give your system added longevity and the added boost it needs for newer games especially since the new consoles come with 8 core processors, the added cores will definitely help as i believe most new games will have a much greater multi-core support for cpu's. Also i noticed that you said the 650 ti oc in your post but actually what i suggested was the 650 ti boost which is one of the latest gpu's put on the market by the nividia and it actually uses the same graphics core as the gtx 660 so its definitely a great buy.
