so im setting up a second monitor so i can have skype up or google up wile i game so i can look stuff up if i get stuck. i have a GTX 650 ti (1gb) and i recently ordered:

and a dvi-d to vga adapter

so i hooked everything in to the second monitor using the hdmi cords and went to turn on the monitor and it came up with "cable not connected" so i figured ill go into control panel and mess with it and it did nothing i tried extending the monitor but nothing happened and is still says this

so i gave up on the hdmi and moved on to trying the vga cord with the adapter and i turned on the monitor and got the no signal msg and then it went into stand by so i messed around with it in control panel and once again did not get it to work. i have been messing with it and looking on line for several hour and am in a desperate need of a solution

In the Nvidia control panel is a setting for one or muilt monitors. You have to se it to muilt monitors then click identify to see if the gpu see the second card. Most gpu the cables needed to be connected and then system rebooted for the gpu to poll the ports.
