I'm looking to upgrade too a gaming system, right now I have a HP Pavilion p6616f Desktop. yes I'm a noob to computers hardware so sorry ahead of time. :(

current Specifications

Motherboard: N-Alvorix-RS880-uATX (Alvorix)
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 820
Memory: 6GBs
Video graphics: Integrated graphics using ATI Radeon 4200
Hard Drive: 750 GBs
Power supply: 250w

The games I want to play are BF3, War Thunder, Skiyrim, Need for Speed Hotprusute , Game of Thrones and Metro Last Light.

They don't need to be on Max settings just med would do, so that I can play them and have fun.

Right now i have a R6670 core edition and a xfx pro 550W psu that I got from a friend for $60 who is gone on active duty right now. I'm not sure if it's even worth installing them tho as compatible is something I haven't looked into.

any help would be greatly appreciated. :D

Solution
You will need to scrap everything you listed except the RAm and hard drive in order to build a gaming system to play those games. The PSU you bought will work:

Total: $533.33

I went AMD to reduce your costs. You will need about $500 to get to your gaming goal.

Solution

A new build is ideal, but the existing platform is halfway decent. The easiest and cheapest way to get to your gaming goal is buying a 1GB GTX 650Ti Boost for $150. I would recommend the 2GB version if your monitor is 1080p for future-resistance.

Don't pay more for less with the 2GB HD 7850 - the GTX 650Ti Boost matches it and you get better features.
