Hi guy i decided to rebuild brand new pc in April i haven't fully finished it yet as i decided to hold out for the new amd line of graphics cards and the next line of Cpu's would be silly to buy a fx 8320 if the new fx chips are around the corner in October-November like they usually are. can someone confirm if there is even going to be a brand new line of cpu's or will they just be a rip from what we already have like bulldozer and pile driver, i have been trying to read up on whats going on but i think everyone else is just as confused as i am some are saying they are sticking to the am3+ this year that will be called 1090FX and some are saying the new steam roller is due out soon that will be called FX 9650... i just need some type of confirmation so i can see my options, thanks

P.s sorry for the bad grammar.

FX9000 and FX8770 are coming, there is no word on pricing, though the power consumption (220W TDP) will be through the roof on them and they are not steamroller cores. They are just really high binned Vishera CPUs. Clockspeed is expected to hover around 4.8-5.0 GHz on those from AMD.

For the budget builder the FX8350 or FX8320 is still a great buy. It will do nearly anything you need and overclock well too! Steamroller is likely due out Q1 2014...so no worries there, but it will be compatible with your board. Steamroller will be AM3+ so you should just need a BIOS update to drop one in.

Thanks for the reply i think i'm going to just buy a cheap used fx 6300 for now until Q1 2014, 220w TDP is complete madness i never even knew motherboards could handle that much, i don't even like the idea of of trying run that power through my gigabyte ud3 it actually sound dangerous, my mosfets wont know whats hit them. As for cooling well that's for another time lol
