Need Help on a PCIe 8X video card.

Hello everyone,
Here's the situation. I am currently running a Dell xps 420 with a 16x Radeon HD 2400 card. I want to add an additional Dell E228WFP monitor for a total of three.
In order to do this I will need to find a card for the 8x PCIe slot. I would like something similar in performance to the 2400 card. I am not a gamer (the most I ever play is Age of Empires 2, and a bunch of Emulators for SNES and NES - Don't laugh) so I just need/want regular everyday performance out of it - Movies / Internet etc. I'm not looking for something next gen, perhaps slightly out of date this gen? Please feel free to fire aware with suggestions.

I don't think I ever saw a PCIe X8 graphic card. If your X8 slot is open at the end, you may be able to use a normal X16 card in it. But I think most slots are closed off on the end. You may want to use the legacy PCI slot for your extra card instead:

I don't think I have ever seen a PCI-E x8 slot. Can you take a picture.

I'm not sure how mixing 2 video cards works but you could also get a pcie x1 video card for around $50ish

Thank you all for the responses so far. Here is a photo of my MB as someone requested. To the person that suggested an 8x version of the 2400 card I have, I would be more than happy to have that. The problem is, I can't find anything for an 8x at all. To the person who asked if it's a closed socket, yes it, so the 16x won't fit in it.

That extender may work in theory, but the card would have to be jury-rigged to keep it secured. Cable tie it to the case? Put in in an empty expansion bay? A curious solution.
I would be inclined to go with a PCI card or a PCIe X1 card if it isn't for gaming.

That is a very curious slot. And another consideration is card width. If it is too wide it will hit the other card.

I'm thinking of this. I won't being usual the dual monitor option, and I think being 2 slots down, will give me the room regardless of the card size. Since this is 256mb and the other is 128mb, will it matter? Will the 256mb just slow to 128mb? If so, I'm okay with that.
