and a dvi-d to vga adapter

so i hooked everything in to the second monitor using the hdmi cords and went to turn on the monitor and it came up with "cable not connected" so i figured ill go into control panel and mess with it and it did nothing i tried extending the monitor but nothing happened and is still says this

so i gave up on the hdmi and moved on to trying the vga cord with the adapter and i turned on the monitor and got the no signal msg and then it went into stand by so i messed around with it in control panel and once again did not get it to work. i have been messing with it and looking on line for several hour and am in a desperate need of a solution

Okay so, hdmi to vga does not work because you're converting a digital signal to analog and normal wires can't really do this without the help of an actual box converter such as this*. Also for the multi-monitor setup, as long as you don't game with more than one monitor (meaning surround) you should be fine. As a side note when you configure your multi-monitor setup keep a close eye on how much VRAM is being used since the last thing you want is your system sucking up actual system ram to run normal processes and your extended desktop.

Yes but make sure the resolution of the game doesn't make it stretch into the other monitors. Other than that you should be fine.
