after re-installing the drivers somehow the system is not recognising my hard disk(1 TB). it is in RAW format. i tried to convert it to NTFS thru command prompt(CONVERT:/Disk Name:/ FS TO NTFS) but it is not getting converted. tried to delete the volume from disk management but gives the following error" system cannot locate the specified file". the system is detecting when i am connecting the hard drive, it can be also seen in device management and disk management. the problem is i am not able to transfer anything into it. it's Blank....Please help.....

Do you have an external drive enclosure or drive dock you could put the drive in and try it on another computer? This link - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927392 - may help. It gives instructions on using the bootrec.exe tool.

Do you have any data on the drive you need to recover? If yes, the link above may be useful. If no, have you tried to format the drive instead of converting it? If you have data you want to recover by all means do not attempt to format the drive. Other programs you can use to attempt data recovery are:
